Recently, I have been trying to come up with new ways to get my clients to loosen up in front of my camera (other than wine). But I realized I really don't know how they're feeling when I am instructing their movements. So, I decided I would reverse the roles. I will tell you, even at casual gatherings I am very uncomfortable when someone takes a picture of me, especially if its JUST ME. That is the worst. Why? Because I am a weirdo, and because it's out of my nature. I have grown up behind the camera, always in control of the final product. (And then I complain later that I am never in any pictures...) So, I am vowing to get in front of the camera more, and learning to let go of control. To start this journey, last month, I met up with one of my favorite of my second shooters, Miss Kate of Paper Locket Photography, at the B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L Lake Houston Wilderness Park. I was nervous, and completely awkward, but Kate talked me through it, while my boyfriend, Matt juggled rocks behind her to get me laughing- he's the best. Here are a few of my favorite shots.... Thank you, Kate!
